Located just outside of Philadelphia, the 200-acre campus features award-winning design and landscaping, along with a nationally recognized arboretum. Off campus, students enjoy cultural events, entertainment and attractions in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.

Haverford's designated airport is Philadelphia International Airport. Students traveling to the program by plane may request Blueprint's Pick-Up/Drop-Off service during the online registration process for an additional fee.

The 188,000-square-foot Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center supports interdisciplinary research and collaboration across the sciences, while the John B. Hurford ’60 Humanities Center promotes deeper connections between classic humanistic study and contemporary currents. Additional facilities include the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship, and the James P. Magill Library.

Staff

For each program, Blueprint hires a skilled crew of directors, teachers and resident advisers to work alongside college faculty and staff. Our directors oversee all aspects of program life and ensure that each student has the opportunity to become an active member of the community. Courses are taught by university faculty, gifted teachers and talented professionals. We recruit only the brightest and most passionate teachers to connect with our students. Our resident advisers act as big brothers and sisters to students while they're away from home. RA’s help students acclimate to new settings and guide them through little challenges along the way.

  • Road Trip Week 1 | Hershey Park, Pennsylvania
    Offering 62 attractions, including 11 world-class roller coasters, 55 rides, and 7 water attractions, Hersheypark is a top Pennsylvania tourist attraction and one of the country's most popular amusement parks. Take a ride on Great Bear, a roller coaster that starts by lifting you 90 feet off the ground. And don't forget about Fahrenheit – this "vertical lift inverted loop coaster" will ascend 121 feet before plummeting down a 97-degree drop!
  • Road Trip Week 2 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    Our second-week destination is the “City of Brotherly Love,” where we’ll check out historic landmarks and area attractions. Philly is buzzing with urban energy – we’ll enjoy plenty of cool shopping and people watching along the way. And then there’s the food. Legendary pizza and cheesesteaks are definitely on the menu!

  • Studio Art Master: Techniques For The Perfect Portfolio
    Self-expression comes in an endless array of forms, but mastering key underlying concepts is essential to any artist. Students will paint, draw and sculpt throughout this course, and will have opportunities to discuss the impact and relevance of various techniques. This course also introduces students to some of the forms and techniques that unite artists across mediums. Personal portfolios and samples are encouraged.
  • Creative Writing: The Ultimate Course For Writing Your Story
    Margret Ann Crone – educator, writer, yogini, and artist extraordinaire – would like to make one thing clear: she will not, under any circumstances, consume a Philly cheesesteak this summer! That disclaimer aside, she’s wide open to adventure. This inspiring, thoughtful instructor will lead a Creative Writing course that brings a whole lot of pizzaz to your pages. Her laid back, fun-loving vibe will encourage you to probe your imagination and unleash your storytelling voice. Under her guidance, you’ll learn how to craft character, make your plot pop, and read like a writer.   • Graphic Design: A Visual Guide To Expressing Yourself
    Graphic Design is one of the fastest growing arts. It focuses on the way we translate style into print, online media, advertising, and industrial concepts. Students in this class will focus on the internet, learning the importance of color, type, organization, placement, and focus while designing individual web based projects and conceptions. Class discussions will also revolve around the aspects of good design, and the career paths that a designer can take.
  • Anatomy & Human Biology: An Interactive Journey Of The Human Body
    When it comes to the human body, there’s always something new to discover. This course explores the complexities of human anatomy, with a look at historical research techniques, current areas of study, and the educational breakthroughs that are just over the horizon. Students will investigate early study and treatment techniques, and see how specific cases and medical innovations have enabled us to map the human body with increasing detail, understanding and accuracy.
  • Blueprint College Search: Your Blueprint For Finding The Perfect School At The Perfect Price
    Finding the perfect college is an art unto itself. In this course, students will take a holistic look at the college search process, including the relevance of rankings and reputation, courses of study, location, campus activities and recreation, athletics, Greek life and more. We will also work through the application process, and identify financial aid opportunities and challenges. Students will gain a realistic understanding of the college search process and be able to turn that knowledge into action.
  • Psychology 101: Who We Are & How We Think
    Discovery starts within. By studying the human mind and behavior, the field of psychology provides insight into what shapes our development, motivates our thoughts and drives our actions. Students will take an engaging look at the history of psychological study, with intriguing cases and detailed texts from well-known pioneers in the industry. Then we will turn our attention to the study of social psychology, and how our needs and environments impact individual behavior. Finally, we’ll turn the attention on ourselves, and work to identify key psychological markers and attributes.
